Will taking a course help me find a job?
Our chalet cookery course has such a good reputation that nearly all successful cookery course candidates go on to find jobs in the industry. We provide a great service to get you on your way to ski employment. Last year 96% of those who gained a grade C or above and were eligible to work in Europe went on to work in a ski resort. The tasks we do to help include:

  • CV and interview advice.
  • Close partnership with the best ski companies.
  • Arrange recruiters to visit the cookery courses during the week. They will come along tell you about their company, and more importantly meet you and see you in the kitchen.
  • When you have applied for a job we will then give recruiters a reference about you from the cookery course to aid your application.

What do our students say?
"Had an interview with Alpine Elements yesterday for hotel assistant and literally 2 hours later, they called me and WOO IM GOING GREECE NEXT SUNDAY!! There was a job as a hotel assistant for the summer and they asked me, so of course I said ‘yes’ and I think I also have a job for the ski season! Thank you so much for all your help that week, it really helped me during my interview since I learnt so much from you both. Definitely will be recommending!"

Coral –July 2014

" Just a quick note to say a big Thank You to both Chrissie and Wendy for a great course. I really enjoyed the week and got so much from it.  I won't hesitate to recommend the course to others."

Nicola - October 2013

"Hope you are both well and recovered from dealing with us! Pretty much just over the sadness of the course coming to an end, was really a great time, and think I can speak for everyone in that it exceeded expectations somewhat!! I got so much out of it in so many ways, aside from the valuable knowledge and skills that you both shared."

Andy - April 2014

"Thanks again to Wendy and Chrissie for an amazing week, and for being both informative and generally lovely!"

Anna – October 2013

"Hi Chrissie it's Faye! Just wanted to let you know that I got the job as a chalet host in France with Crystal! I'm so pleased. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of yours and David's help on the course, you guys prepared me so well for the interview and for the job and I can't thank you enough!"

July/Aug 2014

"Dear Chrissie and David. I just wanted to say again how great the course was. I had a brilliant time and feel a lot more confident in the kitchen thanks to the different recipes and time management lessons. I feel like I really could handle guests in a chalet now, after so many different aspects of chalet life were covered in the course. You made the course entertaining and really interesting (and I can honestly say that I have never felt as full as I did on canapé Wednesday!) Thanks again for a fab week."

Jenni - April 2014

"Thank you so much to you and David for a fantastic week at Natives Skills & Cookery Course last week, Alex and I had such a fun time. We both learnt so much and it was great to spend the week with such a lovely group of people! We have just accepted a job to run a chalet together with Skiworld!"

Hannah & Alex - July 2014

"Hello Chrissie and David. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the course you ran earlier this week! It taught me so much and was 100 x better than I could have ever expected, you ran it in such an enthusiastic and patient way! As cliche as it sounds, it was honestly one of the’ funnest’ weeks I have ever experienced, I have met some amazing people and learned so so much. Thank you so much, it was a truly valuable experience and I just hope I can put it to good use this winter with Ski Armadillo."

Nico - 2014

"Just a quick note to say thanks for organising the course at St Teresa's, and for the invaluable Food Hygiene tuition, and for daring to eat our food! Many thanks."

Kelly (July 2012)

"I just wanted to send you a quick email to say thank you so much for hosting the cookery course last week. I really enjoyed the whole experience. It was very well put together and well ran by Chrissie and David. I found all aspects really useful, from sitting down and discussing menu planning and the detail of working in a resort from the 'cake currency' to insurance. The information that was shared was very useful and I could picture myself doing the job. You gave a realistic review of how it all worked from the not so desirable jobs such as cleaning, to how to become efficient and organized and make the most of your ski season. I really did find it invaluable. Thank you for also checking my CV and covering letter. I now have two interview days set up. so fingers crossed I will have my chalet hosting role soon."

Sarah (July 2013)

"I had such a great time this week. Thanks so much, Chrissie and Wendy do a great job - keeping it real! I'm waiting for the train and reviewing my notes and am kind of amazed at the amount of useful stuff we have learned! Anyone can cook but the hints and tips we were given over the week are a lifetime of experience!"

Collette (October 2012)

"We are so excited and are over the moon! Thank you so much, we wouldn't have done so well with job offers without Chrissie and David's training and advice :)) and bringing cake to an interview definitely works! Doing the course before the interview was seen as a big plus - it showed that we really want to do it as we had invested in our season already."

Karolina and Pete (April 2013)

"It was a really good week and speaking to a lot of the guys they really miss the great banter and togetherness of the group. I just want to say a big thank you for all that Chrissie and David did last week. Keeping my fingers crossed everyone seeks employment somewhere in the mountains."

Clare (August 2013)
